Scandinavian Customized Prosthesis as (SCP) is a technology company developing and supplying orthopaedic implants. We are based in Trondheim, Norway, and were established on basis of joint research findings involving St.Olavs Hospital, Trondheim University Hospital and The Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) in Trondheim.
Our mission is to develop and offer advanced, individually adapted prostheses which can offer improved quality of life for the patients, and make surgical procedures more precise and less time consuming for the surgeons. In order to achieve this we have developed our own, proprietary technology for computer assisted design of the prostheses. The design is based on digital images (CT-images) of the patient’s joint. This ensures that our implants fits perfectly to the individual patient, and enables the surgeon to optimize the joint function without corrective osteotomies. The corrections, that often are needed in order to obtain a well functioning hip, are built into the design of our prosthetic implants.
